Florence Cain

The Florence and Friends concert series was founded by Florence Cain, combining her passion for performance with her dedication to supporting young musicians and her local community. After years of success in the world of opera and classical music, Florence sought to create a platform that would give young performers a chance to shine.

In 2019, Florence organised the inaugural Florence and Friends concert entirely on her own, bringing together more than 20 talented artists, including professional singers from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and local stars from Alcester and surrounding areas. She handled all aspects of the event, including coordinating artist schedules, ensuring fair pay, liaising with the venue, and providing catering. The concert was a resounding success, raising over £1,500 for Warwickshire Young Carers.

Due to the success of the first concert, Florence organised a follow-up event in 2022 on a larger scale, which again received overwhelming support from both the performers and the audience. Through the Florence and Friends series, Florence aims to provide young musicians with the opportunity to perform, grow in confidence, and share their talents with a supportive audience.

The concert series is more than just a celebration of music; it serves as a stepping stone for young artists and a way for Florence to give back to the community. All proceeds from the concerts are donated to Warwickshire Young Carers, a charity close to her heart, which she first became involved with through her performances at the Alcester Mayor's annual charity event.

Florence is deeply committed to continuing the Florence and Friends series, helping young musicians develop their skills while bringing classical and contemporary music to new audiences.
